CPES Passport Program 2020 (on hold until 2021)

Travel with Connecticut Power and Energy Society through the dinner meetings, conferences, and networking opportunities on the books for 2020 and be eligible to win 4 tickets to a 2021 Hartford Yard Goats game plus $100 stadium cash to spend while you are there!

How to Play:

  • You must be a CPES member to participate.
  • You do NOT need to be a new energy professional to play. 
  • Members will receive one stamp per CPES event attended.
  • In order to qualify for a year-end prize, participants must attend at least two CPES events, two additional NEP events, and one CPES conference.

Hartford Yard Goats Networking Event

 

The CPES New Energy Professionals Group, along with CBIA YEEPs and the Energy Section of the CBA invites you to our “Triple Header” Networking Night on Tuesday, May 21st as the hometown Hartford Yard Goats take on the Erie Seawolves.

We’ll gather at the exclusive right-field Foul Pole Area (open and sheltered) for an evening of networking along with a buffet of classic ballpark fare: burgers, hot dogs, BBQ chicken, Italian sausage, mac ‘n cheese, soft drinks and cash bar.

Events begins at 6pm, game time 7:05pm.

FUN FACT:

“Yard Goats” isn’t actually a goat, it’s rail yard slang for the switch engines that shuttle train cars between different locomotives.  It was named by a “Name the Team” contest.

New Year’s Resolutions are filled with gym memberships, and promises to eat better; but have you added a promise to invest in your career in 2019?  CPES offers many opportunities to do so through monthly programs and networking events!  
 
Our next gathering is on January 24th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm at Hanging Hills Brewery in Hartford, CT.  It Is a free New Energy Professionals  program; we just ask that you RSVP so that we know how many are coming.  REGISTER
 
 
 
 

“The Hanging Hills Brewery gathering is the first of what we hope will be a series of happy hour networking events throughout 2019, each at different Connecticut brewery or vineyard,” said Alex Judd, the Chair of the CPES NEP Committee.  “These gatherings are excellent ways to socialize and get to know fellow CPES members in a more informal setting.  Anyone is welcome, and all CPES members are encouraged to attend.”

CPES Holiday Party 2018

Thank you for sharing your evening with CPES!

Where: The Society Room of Hartford   |   December 11, 2018  

CPES members and guests gathered at the Society Room of Hartford for an evening of holiday cheer and networking. The evening began with the presentation of our annual Excellence in Energy Awards. The first award was presented to Brian Farnen for his leadership in advancing energy goals in commercial applications at the CT Green Bank. The second was awarded to Dr. Peng Zhang for his outstanding contribution to energy research and academics at the University of Connecticut.

Later in the evening, Arlene Hiller was honored for her years of service with CPES. Arlene served as the first Executive Director of the organization, which began as the Connecticut Cogeneration Committee in 1985, and has been an integral part of the organization ever since. John Meeske led Arlene’s retirement tribute and shared many stories and well wishes. A standing ovation proceeded, along with remarks from Arlene.
